I’m Rhen Pressnell, a designer and digital artist interested in the space between design, 3D, visual effects and emerging media.
My work combines graphic design, 3D modelling, motion, photography and visual storytelling. I enjoy taking an idea from an initial concept and developing it into something that feels considered, immersive and visually engaging.
Alongside personal projects, I work with schools, sports organisations and community groups through my creative studio, PressnellCreative. This has given me opportunities to develop branding, digital content, photography, 3D visuals and larger creative projects for real audiences.
I’m interested in continuing to develop my technical and creative skills through media design, particularly in 3D, VFX, motion and immersive visual experiences.

NCEA DESIGN COURSEWORK

Building my design practice through NCEA
WELCOME TO QUEENSTREET FC
A fictional football club created for my Year 13 NCEA Design coursework. I developed a complete visual identity for Queenstreet FC, including its crest, kits, typography, promotional graphics and digital content, exploring how design can create identity and culture around a sporting organisation.
THE NAUTIKA EXPERIENCE
A Year 12 NCEA Design project centred around NAUTIKA, a subtropical ocean planet where water dominates the surface and four species coexist. I developed the world through 3D modelling, environments, visual design and storytelling, exploring how design and digital media could bring an entirely fictional world to life.

Reconstructing memories through photography
A photographic series exploring my grandmother’s early life in the years following the war and the lasting impact it had on her and her family. I used photography to reconstruct and interpret these stories, exploring memory, family history and the way past experiences continue to shape generations.
Roots, identity and belonging
A photographic series exploring my school’s culture and identity through the symbolism of trees and their roots. The roots represent the generations of students who have shaped the school, while the trees symbolise the connection, pride and sense of belonging that continues to grow within its community.
